++++++++++ IAS LEGISLATION USA In Members' Update 13/09 we informed you about the United States House subcommittee hearing on a draft act on Invasive Alien Species in the USA. This hearing took place on 23 April. According to Marshall Meyers of PIJAC USA the act is "heavily injured as a result of the hearing but not dead". It is now an open question what will happen. The act is too controversial to be sent to the relevant committee without many amendments, but it could also happen that the whole process of development of dedicated legislation will start over again. Marshall Meyers is one of the speakers in the OFI Conference on Invasive Alien Speakers on 30 May in Singapore. If you want to ask him for more details on this process in the USA, this is the place to be. Register now! ++++++++++ BILINGUAL SPANISH-ENGLISH EU CERTIFICAT Our colleagues of AEDPAC in Spain have developed a bilingual EU health certificate Spanish English. This documents is now included in the Documents Archive in the OFI website. ++++++++++ IMPORT HEALTH STANDARDS NEW ZEALAND New Zealand is currently developing new import health legislation for ornamental aquatic animals.
