CITES PROPOSALS
The next CITES Conference of the Parties will be held from 13-25 March in Qatar. Countries are making up their opinion for this conference, including the USA. A concept for their proposals became available. The USA is considering proposals to list all freshwater stingrays on appendix II and to up-list freshwater sawfish from app. II to app. I. They are also considering a proposal on listing Nautilids (both genera) on app. II.
Even more intriguing is it that they apparently have decided to reopen the debate on coral nomenclature.
On the other hand it seems that the USA is not considering to another attempt to list the Banggai cardinalfish.
OFI will also prepare for this meeting and our CITES specialist Svein Fosså will attend the CoP on OFI's behalf.

ADVERT IN OFI BOOK
The secretariat has started the preparation for the next OFI book. This book will provide a standard for scientific names in our industry. It will become a standard work with not only names and trade names of species of ornamental fish, crustaceans and mollusks; we will also try to include a large number of photo's of the species. It will be a supporting tool for filling in health certificates on-line in the OFI website in the future.

The OFI Code of Conduct is now on-line. You can go to the pages to fill in for your own company on the page in the OFI website. We will present the result of your self-declaration into your information in the Members' Directory. Please fill in the relevant questionnaires and also the declaration with guarantees. We look forward receiving your declaration of quality and expertise!

INTEREST IN OFI PAVILION AT INTERZOO 2010
We are investigating the possibilities for an OFI pavilion at Interzoo 2010. We aim at small booths of about 6-7 m2. If you are interested in a booth in such a pavilion, please contact the OFI Secretariat urgently.
